Raw footage to a YouTube video with the AI Long-form Video Editor
Drop in your footage and say how it should be edited in one line. AI listens to the whole video, picks what to keep and builds a 16:9 edit. To polish it, just talk to the edit agent in the side panel.
How to edit raw footage into a YouTube video in 3 steps
01. Add your footage and one line of direction
Upload a file or paste a YouTube, Drive or Dropbox link, then say how it should be edited. Pick a length: Auto, or about 8, 12 or 20 minutes.
02. AI edits across the whole video
It transcribes, reviews what to keep and cuts pauses, filler and retakes. With a target length it keeps the key parts from across the whole video, then designs the hook, chapters and YouTube title.
03. Polish it by talking, then export
Say "faster" or "less chatter" and it's done, with an undo on every reply. When you're happy, export a 1920×1080 MP4.
Any length, picked from across the whole video
Cutting a 40-minute take down to 12 doesn't just keep the first part. AI maps the story of the whole video, keeps more of the topics that matter most, and brings back a lead-in wherever a cut sounds abrupt. Remove or bring back a whole topic in the Structure tab.
Everything else, just tell the edit agent
The only settings are your intro, outro and thumbnail. Tempo, hook, chapters, captions, background music and the YouTube title and description are all one sentence to the agent — and rules you give it are remembered for your next edits.
Export, then go straight to shorts
Your edit renders on this device as a 1920×1080 MP4. A card under the Export button offers to make shorts from it — even mid-download, it opens Create shorts with the same video in a new tab, ready to start when the file lands.
Why Shorts Zone
Never cut mid-sentence
Every short starts and ends on a sentence boundary, so nothing stops halfway through a thought.
A virality score for every short
A 0–100 score, a first-3-seconds check and one honest note make it easy to pick what to post.
Your video stays on your device
Cutting, captions and rendering all run in your browser. Only transcript text is sent to the AI.
Paste a YouTube link
The Shorts Zone Link helper downloads it on your own computer. Drive and Dropbox links and files work too.
Korean, English, Japanese, Dutch, Italian and Traditional Chinese
Transcribe and caption in all six languages. From Pro, translate captions into any of the other five.
Follows whoever is talking
Going from 16:9 to 9:16 keeps the speaker centered, and splits the screen for two or three people.
Long videos welcome
Up to 30 minutes free, 60 on Lite, and no length limit from Pro.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of footage works?
Any long video with talking in it — vlogs, interviews, lectures, reviews. Up to 90 minutes, as a file or a YouTube, Drive or Dropbox link. Videos with no speech can't be edited.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
Transcribing, cutting and exporting happen on this device. The AI gets the transcript and what it needs to plan the edit, plus a few chosen frames only when you make a thumbnail.
How do intros and outros work?
Add a video of up to 60 seconds in the edit settings. The intro goes after the hook, before the main video, and the outro at the very end. You can leave either out for a single video when you start it.
Can I add captions?
Yes. The Captions tab has the same caption looks as the shorts editor — change the position, size and style, and fix any line. You can also download a captions file (.srt).
Which plan do I need?
Long-form edit starts on Pro. Longer videos use a few more tokens, and you see roughly how many before you start.
More AI tools
- YouTube Thumbnail Maker — AI picks the best frames from your edit and sketches three thumbnail ideas. Tweak the text and download a 1280×720 JPG.
- Caption Translator — Translate captions between Korean, English, Japanese, Dutch and Italian. Translated captions appear right when the words are spoken, and you can keep the original underneath.
- AI Editing Agent — Ask in plain words inside the shorts editor and AI does the edit for you. Every request can be undone in one click, with the score before and after side by side.
- AI Shorts Maker — Drop in one long video and AI finds the moments worth sharing, then cuts them into vertical shorts that never stop mid-sentence — each with a virality score.
- Background Music for Shorts — For every short, AI reads the talking, cuts, length and title and lays in free music that fits — skipping quiet intros and dipping under the voice.
- Online Shorts Editor — Polish the shorts AI cut for you, right in your browser. Cut sentences from the transcript, fix captions, logo, framing and music on one screen, and export.
