The right format for the job
MP3 plays on nearly everything. WAV and FLAC are lossless — ideal for editing or transcription. M4A (AAC) sounds a little cleaner than MP3 at the same size.

If the video's audio is already AAC and you pick M4A, it's taken out without re-encoding — no quality loss, done in a moment.
Frequently asked questions
What MP3 quality do I get?
192 kbps by default, with 128 and 320 kbps available. 128 is plenty for speech; use 192 or more for music.
It says my video has no audio.
The file has no audio track (a silent screen recording, for example). If you can hear sound, the codec may be unusual — convert it to MP4 with the Video Converter first.
Is my video stored anywhere?
No. The file never leaves your device — it's processed inside this tab with WebCodecs. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
Is there a file size limit?
Up to 2 GB per file. The result is held in your browser's memory, so on devices with little RAM smaller files are safer.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Speed depends on your device — desktop Chrome and Edge are usually the fastest.
