How to find shorts with a prompt in 3 steps

  1. 01. Describe the moments you want

    Open Create shorts from Your shorts and type what you're looking for in the box at the bottom, in plain words. Or start from a chip like Funny moments or Key takeaways.

  2. 02. AI drafts new shorts

    AI reads the whole transcript and adds matching moments as new drafts. It never suggests a moment you already have, and each draft is scored on the same scale as your shorts.

  3. 03. Generate the ones you keep

    Untick the drafts you don't want and press Generate. Only the ones you picked become shorts in your list.

Plain words, not timestamps

Write "the part where he pushes back on investors" or "anything with a surprising number". A chip fills the box with a detailed request you can edit before sending. The first time, it finishes transcribing the whole video on your device.

Drag a range, search only there

In the one-at-a-time view, drag across the timeline to pick a range, and Suggest and the chat box only look inside it. Press Create to make a draft right there, snapped to sentences, without AI at all.

Edit by chat, undo in one click

Say "drop the third one" or "make the first one shorter" to remove, restore, retime or rename drafts. Don't like the result? One Undo reverses everything that request changed.

Frequently asked questions

Which plans include it?

Asking AI for shorts is part of Pro, MAX and Ultra. Every plan can open Create shorts, pick a range on the timeline to make drafts by hand, and generate them.

Can I steer the picks on the free plan?

Yes, before you start: write what you want under Moments in the Create shorts settings, and AI takes it into account when it picks the first shorts. That works on Free too.

Does it use tokens?

Yes. Each request uses this month's tokens for the transcript AI reads. Videos longer than 30 minutes use a little more.

Will it repeat shorts I already have?

No. Moments that are already in Your shorts aren't suggested again. New drafts are saved until you generate them, so they're still there if you close the window and come back.

What if a draft isn't quite right?

Ask again — "shorter", "rename it" — or open it in the one-at-a-time view and press Trim to drag both ends yourself. The edges snap to sentence boundaries.
